Thursday.

Cottages at Weeting, Norfolk. With reference to earlier blog, we didn't sing from the top of the Deanery Tower because neither churchwarden had the key to the tower, and it couldn't be found. So we sang from near the base of the tower (in the open air), and the singing sounded pretty good we were informed, so everyone was (fairly) happy. Goodnight all.

Well done Annie! you can put the key back now when no-one is looking. I don't know how you keep him alive the way he gads about with a dicky-ticker, scaling towers whilst singing at the top of his voice and restringing a grandfather clock with one hand and doling out the hymn-books with the other! I'm surprised he's not tolling the bell with his teeth as well!

In the past, when someone had died, it was said that the Parson told the Sexton, and the sexton tolled the bell !!!!!!!!
