Took this snapshot yesterday evening. Ann had her 70th birthday in March and our children clubbed together and bought her a ticket for a hot air balloon ride (which she has always rather fancied). Apparently weather conditions have to be perfect before these timid creatures will agree to rise to the occasion, and yesterday was finally perfect (enough). So at 6.30 yesterday evening we were about fifteen miles south of here in Essex, where I took the above photo of a hot air balloon spread out on the grass.
Now see our next thrilling episode :-

I don't suppose they still make 'em out of oiled silk with a papier-mache gondola, these days?
Where do the coke and stoker go? I suppose they must be somewhere amidships for the hot fumes to rise and fill the bag?
Glad Ann had a good time of it. Almost makes the risks acceptable!!!
Pootatu asks if it was cold up there?
Her v-word is 'iceavion'
No colder than on the ground, Ann says. And it was a lovely evening for it.
