Wednesday.
Above is another window shot, although this one was inspired (or at any rate influenced) by the 'reflection' photoes that daughter Nea used to specialise in.
Been a busy day. Up early because we were both reading a lesson at early service. Quick breakfast after the service, then I stayed on to continue setting up the book stall - almost done now, whilst Ann went and did some shopping in town. This afternoon Ann went off to help set up a 'Tea and musical' afternoon at a friend's house in aid of 'Christian Aid' (if that makes any sense). An hour later got a 'phone call from Ann - could I attend and bring kettle. Ann had made a fruit cake for the tea. Went, donated, bought raffle tickets, drank tea, ate walnut cake, made conversation, then adjourned to the music room, where our host, John, was giving a piano recital, which included some very well played Scott Joplin. I vaguely knew John was 'musical', had heard him play guitar very well, but had no idea he was such a good pianist. To hear ragtime played by a retired clergyman at the intended speed ('not fast' as Mr. Joplin wrote) was very unexpected, refreshing, and as the youngsters say 'cool'. Lovely half hour of music before I was detailed by Ann to drive home a very elderly neighbour, who had walked the mile uphill to the entertainment, but didn't really feel up to the walk home. Delivered her door to door, then home and spent a very pleasant couple of hours pottering in the workshop, until called to supper by Ann. Sausage pie, very good, Ann's own recipe, which she aught to write down, followed by bread and butter pudding. Nearly bedtime now, so - Goodnight All.

Lovely camera-work Mike.
Was it Scott Joplin who composed "The Entertainer"... Thank goodness the music is unforgetable, my apologies to the composer!
Yes. Or at least he composed the theme music for the film 'The entertainer'. I can't remeber what mr. Joplin called it - ??? Rag.
P.s. Your're quite right. It was The Entertainer by Scott Joplin that was later used as the theme tune for the film 'The Sting'. Sorry. I think my memory must be skidding a bit.
Cheers, Mike.
Tempus Fugit Mike....
The passage of time develops the forgetory and abrades the memory.
