The above photo is of the end of Sudbury Market place. I don't think today is Market Day in Sudbury, but the market, and indeed the town as a whole, seemed to be thoroughly busy - run up to Christmas I suppose. As we shall be setting out very early in the morning to catch Amelia's plane; and as we plan to have an early night in preparation for an early start tomorrow, I take this opportunity to wish you all a very good night's sleep.

A regular corner for me on my frequent trips to Kent before they built the A11!
Your weather must be so much milder over there!
My vocabulary list is getting longer, thank you! Buckshee, clobber, zizz, ack emma, and I can't remember what taradiddle means.
Hello Rog. Thank goodness for modern A and M roads.
Hello Lori. Taradiddle originally meant a fib, and one not really expected to be believed. If used nowadays (and it's rather a Victorian expression) it tends to mean someone is talking Tosh or rubbish.
Never been near nor by Sudbury... lucky Sudbury..;-)
Looks very nice indeed. I will seek it out next summer and take Caz for a look.
Hello 4Ds. Ann joins me in saying that if we find out that you and Caz have been up here next summer and NOT called in and had lunch with us, we shall, of course, lay in wait and ambush you on the way back.
BE WARNED!!!!!!
Mike and Ann,
Lollygagged means to take my time...a very relaxed approach to cleaning the stalls.
Thanks for reminding me about taradiddle.
I seem to recall that in the Fenland dialect 'lollygagging' implied not only taking ones time but passing on the village gossip and news whilst avoiding any strenuous activities of a productive or dutiful nature.
Hullo Crowbard. You wouldn't be jollylagging would you?
I assure you Mike, all my jollity was well lagged before the onset of winter along with my legs and domestic plumbing.
On the other hand, whilst I've been jolly well lagging behind all you spry youngsters for the past decade or more, I do believe I'm starting to catch up a bit at last. If I could just get my brain in gear (spoonerize that if you will although it's barley worth while) I'd be almost human on occasion.
