Sunday.
Yesterday we were invited to a 60th birthday lunch held at the pub to the right of the photo. The birthday girl was a friend who sings in the church choir next to Ann. There were about thirty guests, and the landlord had put on a superb lunch, consisting of a large electric cauldron of chicken curry, with dishes of rice, new potatoes, vegetables, and chutneys, pickles, etc. There were also various cold meats and cheeses. All this was washed down with champagne (or beer if your fancy was so inclined). Followed by a variety of puddings. Altogether an excellent lunch served in a room at the back, with doors opening to tables set up in the orchard at the back of the pub. Took especial note of all this as Ann has a 70th birthday next year and we quite fancy a family do at the same venue. We'll see.
Had lunch today with friends in Bury St. Edmunds who we hadn't seen lately. It was a lovely lunch, and was good to get up to date with the news. Must knock off now. Ann's gone up to bed, and I should have done, but wanted to record yesterday's do whilst still fresh in mind. Good night all.
