Monday.

Took this picture from our churchyard yesterday. It's a pseudoaccacia I think with bright yellow/green foliage, which contrasts nicely with the tree trunk which is covered in dark green Ivy. Not good for the tree, but makes a beautiful contrast. The last ten days or so have been foggy/misty first thing, then when the sun gets up the days have been more like August than October. This evening after the sun had gone down, and it was almost twilight, the temperature was still in the low seventies. Hope it continues. Been a lovely autumn so far. Must do a bit more work then off to bed. Goodnight.

I wonder if it is a distant relative of mimosa?

Hello Pat. Yes I think you're right. I've just looked it up and it's a Robinia Pseudoacacia Frisia. On the next page is an illustration of Sophora Japonica Silver Wattle (mimosa), which differs only slightly from Robinia.
