Hello Pat. the horse is The Duchess, an old brood mare, who loved to be ridden, which she was very frequently. She was over thirty when that picture was taken, and if left to herself would never have lived to that age. She was a lovely old lady.
Hello Zoe. Yes. you too, are right. It is I atop the Duchess. That picture must have been taken about sixty years ago (or so).
