Thursday.

Today we had to motor over to Cambridge - long story - half a dozen birds with one stone job.  Took the top photo near Lavenham on our way. Our little local river, the Brett, was, in places, some two hundred yards wide spreading across its water meadows.
All the rest of the photos taken on the way home - not the same way as we came. Ann needed to go out to Cherry Hinton, then we came home - as it turned out- the long way, as several roads were closed due to flooding, so we made detours, then had to go through various 'splashes', none more that four inches deep.
All the photos taken through the car windscreen, so please excuse fuzzy bits.

We've been comforting ourselves with the thought that our government has assured us that due to a shortage of water amounting to a drought a hose pipe ban has had to be enforced. Therefore these pictures must, of course, be  mirages!!!!

I'm off water. Today we have a leak in the kitchen and it isn't clear from where.
