Saturday.

Our daughter Kerry is staying with us this weekend, and, although she's often visited us here, she's never had time for a good look round the area. So this afternoon took her for a quick run round the local beauty spots to give her a taste of it.

Went first to Kersey, snapshot of village street above. Went through the ford, ignoring the 'Road Closed' sign. About four or five inches of water on the road rather than the usual inch or so.

Then on to Lavenham for a quick exploration. Above is a corner of the Guildhall. On the Market Place was a display of craft work- a Potter, an artist, and a sculptor. Wandered round, and eventually took tea in Margaret and John's old house, the front part of which is now a woolshop/tea room. Had tea then Ann and Kerry pottered round admiring the wool (they tell me the place is well stocked). Ann eventually bought some wool, a pattern, and new needles. Drove home by a different route (would have said 'the pretty route' but it would be an awful job to judge in our area). Nice, restful afternoon, and Kerry much impressed.

Naughty! Someone recently did exactly that and was swept to his death.

You're quite right Pat. As a Norfolk Fenman I should have known better. Still, we got away with it (again).
