Saturday 1.

This weekend Ann's youngest brother's youngest son, Ed, his wife Jo, and Darcy, their black labrador bitch, are spening the weekend with us. Ed, by the way, is also my Godson. This is Ed and Darcy by the river.
Darcy meets a friend (who behaved rather like Mr. Darcy in the television version of Pride and of Prejudice).
Portrait of Darcy.

Thank you Crowbard.

Do you know Stig, I think Darcy is the best behaved dog I've ever come across. Ed and Jo tood her on as a puppy to become a guide dog for the blind. She didn't make it, or was judged unsuitable or something, so they kept her. She lets you know what she wants, but doesn't bark for it, or fret if she can't get it. She's a delight to have around. But I personally don't want another dog. Too much of a tie, given our life style.

Uncle Mike, I wish I had the same observant and articulatory powers that you have. I think you have hit Darcy bang on the nail. Of course I am quite biased and as a result I over compensate by almost denying or, more accurately, not realising what a privilege it is to have such a dog. Glad you like her!
