Thursday 3.

Sorry I had to cut the previous post short, but it was worthwhile. My dealer friend 'phoned to make an appointment for an hour hence, kept it and eventually purchased a fair selection of brass (mainly candlesticks) and pewter.
The photo above is for the benefit of my new commentor Stigofthedump, to see if she can identify it. It will require an effort of memory. To help, I will post a photo of the interior. Back in a minute.

good grief - its the pet shop in Halesworth !!!
It used to have dead finchs in the window and smelt like the hippo house at whipsnade zoo as you walked past !!!
Oh happy memories of wandering through town with lizzie wailing 'wait for me'.
funny how smells can bring back memories

Well Done, Daughter! What a memory. It used to be run by an elderly lady and her young nepphew, Nolly, helped her. It is now Nolly's Pet shop. Otherwise it has changed remarkably little over the intervening forty years.

Hi Sal,
I suppose that's marginally better than having dead hippos in the window....
Although I understand there is a long established and lively market for bush-meat in Halesworth!
