Wednesday 1.

Snapshot is of a corner of the garden containing our tumbledown tool shed, taken this morning.
Went to early service this morning (7.30 a.m.) and stayed for light breakfast afterwards. Pottered in workshop this morning, had light lunch in garden, enjoyed sunshine. This afternoon we motored into Ipswich to visit friend Barbara, who's in Ipswich hospital, following a slight heart attack (her second). Found her sitting on her bed, fully dressed and looking quite cheerful. She's waiting to be transferred to Papworth hospital near Cambridge, which specialises in heart conditions. Her surgeon had originally been intending her to return home today, but changed his mind and now wants an expert second opinion. At least they're taking it seriously. They should do! Barbara organises our Saturday Scrabble Club, and cannot be spared. I'm being called upstairs for supper. More later perhaps.

Proper, well-established shed, Mike. I'm jealous! I've given up trying to do anything in the garage; I straighten it up every once in a while but the next time I go in it's totally chock-full of Jude's gardening tools and equipment!... But I have a cunning plan... I have ordered a garden shed to which I can banish all her green-fingered fripperies, and reclaim a small working space for myself. The Eucalyptus was bolting away despite my taking eight to twelve feet off the top of it twice a year... you just can't get hungry koalas in this area! So in view of my diminishing stability up ladders I have taken the drastic measure of taking it out, and I'm planning a garden seat from the trunk and a shed for Jude from the space.

Hi Crowbard. Yes, it's a handy shed. We keep (mainly) the garden tools and Ann's bike in it. Mine lives in the potting shed /forge.

I do hope your potting/shed/forge does not catch wood-worm from your bicycle's basket, Mike - or did Lizzie filch that one to keep Nana Trower off the roads?
