Friday.

You'd hardly believe that this photo was taken within a hundred yards of the sea, would you? Well, it's of grandchildren Lucy and Guy taken near Orford Quay, where we (i.e. Ann, meself, Sarah our senior daughter, son in law Mikey, and the two aforesaid grandchildren) went crabbing this morning. During the next two hours we caught just over two hundred and fifty crabs (about four of which were of edible size). Mikey had one haul of SEVENTEEN crabs at one cast. Excellent sport. Then, as none of us fancied cooking crabs, we put them ALL back in the sea by holding a crab race down the nearest slipway. More details of a lovely day later.

This pond is at Orford Quay about halfway between the car park and the beach. doesn't look a bit seaside-y, does it?

I caught crabs once but perhaps we shouldn't go there...;-)

It looks like the middle of the countryside! That near the sea?

Hi, P'man. If you look at Orford Quay on a map you'll understand. It's on a long inlet of the sea that runs up to Snape, so in a way you're inland but there's still an arm of the sea (with lots of crabs in it) and probably half a mile wide at high tide, running past the quayside.
