Wednesday.

The above photo was taken yesterday evening when we were a few miles from home. As we were driving along a narrow lane a small herd of deer (fallow, I think) dashed towards us from our right. Ann braked, and the three antlered stags and a doe galloped across the lane a yard or so in front of us, whilst the remaining three doe swerved behind us, just missing the boot. We'd stopped by now, so I got out and took a couple of photoes of them. They'd mostly grouped in the field to our left about a hundred and fifty yards away. Never did see what they were running from.
Had Sarah, Mikey, Lucy and Guy staying from Thursday evening until Sunday morning. Lovely weekend. On Sunday afternoon we drove up to Wisbech, had tea with Gran, then drove up to Louth in Lincolnshire. On Monday morning went to see cousin in a nursing home in Mablethorpe (Altzheimer's - but not too bad). Whilst we were there her children visited, too. Hadn't seen Andrew since he was in his teens. Now in his mid-fifties, and a very pleasant chap. Good to see them all. Spent rest of Monday exploring Louth- a very pretty (mainly georgian) town. Parish Church looks cathedral like - superb place. Travelled home yesterday, calling at Horncastle - used to be a really good town for antique shops- still a few there, and bought quite well- should pay for trip. I'll try and put a few photoes of trip on blog.
