Well He might have got H is own back yesterday, when he told me all about how naughty SH was as a very young child and had encouraged, in fact insisted that He put his foot down and go faster, and faster, and faster until His poor old Triumph Roadster hit the tun! naughty, naughty SH! I trust SH is much more lightfooted as a driver herself ;) xxx
I think the real top speed of Rupert the roadster was prolbably about seventy m.p.h., but the speedo wasn't en tirely reliable - like most things on a car of that vintage. Still, it was great fun.
Great car for an extended family whose numbers probably exceed the Roadster's top speed! The world deserves more Horners and needs more Roadsters to accommodate them. There were two versions of Roadster, the 1300 (1,296cc) and the 1500 (1,493 cc). Built from 1970 to 1976, a total of 119,182 examples were produced (Roadsters, that is.) Horners are now few and far-flung. I hate it when complete strangers walk up to you and say " Be you a Horner? We'm far-flinging Horners today?" It is injudicious to say "Yes!" and misleading to say "No!". Horners never lie, but we're very skilled at remodelling the truth!

You're lucky Sarah... He was always looking when I was a kid... (That would be the day before yesterday probably...)

P.s. ILt's still on the roads, though - Woodbridge way- we see it in summer usually.

The first three words of the previous line provide an example of remodelled truth; the rest is pure Boffo!
