Sunday 4.

The wellie wanging pitch (to use the vernacular term) down at the end of the garden by the river. The object of the exercise is to throw a wellington boot the furthest. I would like to have had a go, but during my necessarily brief visit to take a photo there was such a queue to take part that I decided not to wait.

Wellie wanging is an art form; I once won (!) a table skittle competition way behind me whilst trying to wang a wellie!

What an athletic triumph Maggie. I wish I'd seen that.

Them as take their own wellies don't have to queue, Mike...
but you might have to fight to get them back!

Well done Maggles, I always thought you'd turn out ambidextrous!... or do I mean directionally challenged?

If you don't let go of the wellie at the appropriate angle it goes flying off behind you! I was very lucky it didn't give the vicar concussion, although as it was Father Brian, he would have laughed. It happened at the Newton Harcourt fete, and the wellie really did clear the table skittles behind me. I love village fetes, so very English.
