Thursday.

Last Monday when friends Rodney and Ann came to lunch, Rodney bought my Ann these daffodils (then in bud). They are coming out nicely now and the scent is lovely. A real breath of spring. I know it's too early to be saying that, but they're a nice reminder that it's on its way.

Daffs already????

Are they 'brought on'?

Very nice mind

Hi 4Ds. I think they're from the Scillies. They're in the shops, and very reasonably priced, too. They don't last long, a week to ten days, but they do cheer things up while they're here.

Vernal Salutations Dear Bruv!...
Or as 'Pooter puts it in her dyslexic Latinate v-word - saulatio.
It is delightful to be reminded by your blooming daffodils of Spring-time's proximity amidst old Hiem's snowy bluster. I've just crumbled my last crust and thrown it out for the birds. Times must be getting better because they've just thrown it back at me! Dashed towny avians are getting too accustomed to mince-pies and Christmas cake!
Hey-Ho! Plus ca change! - and all for the better.

Hi Lori. Do come over and get some.
Hi Carl. Talking of birds, I watched a blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla) in the garden yesterday. They used to be a rare summer visitor, but now they're not particularly unusual in winter.
As you say - all for the better.

Lori, I'm going to reword that (it sounded less than polite). Do come over and we'll give you some.
