With a door like that you wouldn't bother to go inside... Hard to imagine anything inside to be more rewarding than looking at such a magnificent doorway.
No, not yet. Is that the door with a Viking's skin nailed to it? There is a church in England that has such a door. The 'experts' were becoming a bit doubtful about the folktale concerning the door, so some of the remains of the skin (under the old nails) was tested -and found to be human! There's usually a grain of truth in folktales.
Have just checked St. Botolph's on google, and it is the church which had a Dane's skin nailed to the door. Google says the skin is now in Saffron Walden museum. Don't know why they couldn't leave the poor beggar in peace where he was nailed all those years ago!!!!!!!

Have you been to St Botolph's in Hadstock, north of Saffron Walden. It's supposed to have the oldest church door in the UK?
