I'm not sure that I've put this down before -I think probably not, so here goes - I'm still recovering from a busted hip, and one of the results of this is that we've decided that a bungalow will be safer for us. We have found a bungalow (our children all seem to think it ideal for us)so now we're planning for one last (we hope) move. Any comments gratefully received (sensible ones only please, Crowbard and Rog)

Congratulations Mike & Ann, what a very sensible idea. We wish you every happiness in your new home, Love, Carl & Jude. Farewell to stairs (but stare well at fairs).
Thank you Carl and Jude. We've found a three bedroomed bungalow about half a mile from here, which seems to be right for us. We've sold ours (provisionally) and had our offer accepted, so all seems to be going well at present. Shall be sorry, in a way, to leave this place. So far, in our fifty six years of marriage this has been our fifteenth house, and has been my favourite.
Sorry to hear about your injury, I'm 72 and just counting every day that I manage to stay upright a victory over the inevitable. I had six spills last Winter and expect to surpass that this next one. As I always tell my three daughters, "Don't get old, it's not as much fun as people might lead you to believe".
I find I can have a deal of fun just sitting still and thinking... But I don't seem so able to construe Latin as readily as I used.
But then, nemo mihi dicat latine hos dies.
Hello Paul. Good to hear from you. I quite agree about Anno Domini. I'm coming up to my 77th birthday. A few weeks ago I asked all my elderly aquaintance if they could think of an advantage to old age. Got one positive reply from a neighbour, an elderly lady :- "Yes" she said - "The 'bus pass".
Hi Carl and Jude. Ref latin construes - quite agree with you. Never knew them do me any good but once, and that's another story what I might tell you sometime if I can remember details. Warm regards, Mike and Ann.
It's a lovely house and so convenient for the town, but I do agree that a bungalow is a very good plan. It's not the main stairs, which one generally uses once in the morning and again at night, but the changes in level and so on. I haven't rung Ann for a few weeks, so pleased to hear you've got an offer on your house. Looking forward to inspecting the new place in due course! Love from Z and Tim
