Wednesday.

This is  a picture of  an apple cake that grand daughter Freja made for tea a day or so ago. She says it was based on one of Grannie's  recipes and contains mainly apples, sultanas and spices. It was delicious. She served it with cream - didn't really need it but it turned it from a cake into a pudding.

If anyone is thinking of dropping in for  tea over the next day or so - you'll be very welcome, but  there's none of  the  above cake left. As Z might say - totes consumed.

She really is Rue. It's a pleasure watching her scurrying about the kitchen. I was stirring last year'sloe gin a few minutes ago and Freja said "What's that Pa?". I explained and gave he a little to try. She was most appreciative, so I told her that it wouldn't be at its best until this coming Christmas at least. She'd never heard of sloes and doesn't think they grow as far North as you live. Is that true ? It makes me realise what hardships you must endure.
