Tuesday (2).

This is almost (but not  quite) the same thing as a  Mystery Object. It is a plant which is now  in flower in the garden. I don't know its real name but I have always  known it as the  Army and Navy plant.   Any idea why? and, of course, what is it's real name.

A pretty feeble effort but could it be that the predominant colours seem to be green and blue which would suggest the Army and the Navy ???

I'm not sure, Mike, but the name that comes to mind is Pulmonaria, otherwise known as Lungwort.

Hello Paul. The point about this plant is that there are red flowers and blue flowers on the plant at the same time. Blue = Royal Navy Uniform. Red = Army Uniform, hence the folk-name of Army and Navy plant.

Hello Zoe, yes, I think that is the correct name. In fact, I've just looked it up, and it is given as Lungwort, part of the Borage family. Thank you Zoe; you are always knowledgable about plants and their names.

Red hasn't represented the army since Napoleon was having all those tantrums, so I stand by my guess of Green and Blue = Army and Navy.
