Tuesday.

Above is a snapshot of our friend Audrey. All the photos today were taken this morning in the Row Chapel.

Above are Audrey and our friend Sylvia. The unusual thing about these two ladies is that they share a birthday, and a birth year. In other words (and this will give the point of today's blog) they were both born on the fourth of February, 1924, so that today is their ninetieth birthday. They have been friends for a good many years.

Above shows the birthday girls with the Rev. Janice, discussing the hymns they would like sung at the morning service today.

After the service the above birthday cake was cut and served with a decentish claret and/or coffee for those who would be driving.

This afternoon we (that is about thirty of us) attended an at home given by Sylvia.  Great fun it was, too. The elderly have usually learned how to enjoy themselves!

Well, Happy Birthday to them! I hope I look half as good when I'm 90.

Quite agree Liz; so do we.

Don't they look splendid - and so happy.
I'm still pictureless - how I envy you.

Hello Pat. Yes, it was lovely double celebration. Whenever Nea is over she usually tidies up my system for me; but I do seem to have to 'go round the houses' these days to publish photos on my blog. It seemed so ridiculously easy to use Picassa at one time. Now I seem to spend at least three times as long to make things function. Thanks Nea.

How lovely! Thank you for the extra effort in publishing the pictures. It used to work, so why did they change it?

I don't really understand it Z. If a thing has been done (and done well) for some years, it seems odd to announce, without reasons being given, that it now can no longer be done that way. But a lot of people seem to have this modern belief that if it's new and different, it must, ipso facto, be BETTER.

Gosh, don't I sound curmudgeonly again???

Actually, you sound absolutely right!

Thanks Z. That's reassuring.

Wow they both look good for 90! Happy birthday to them both! It was my birthday on the 3rd February. :D

Thank you Joe. I think this must be a healthy area for longevity. As a septuagenerian meself (hope that's correct. It's people in their sixties we have to be careful in describing) I find it a comfort to think it's the area that's so healthy.
