Monday 2.
Tonight's supper was a real meal of leftovers, and that, by the way, is by no means a complaint. It was excellent. Ann found she'd got some creamed, left over potatoes; so mixed in some tuna fish and some capers, turned the potatoes into fish cakes, and fried them. Then the last of the Christmas brie cheese was mixed with some sliced tomatoes and baked. Together with a few chopped, fried mushrooms, the leftovers were turned into an excellent light supper. Pudding was stewed pears with figgy yoghurt. We still have a few scraps of cheeses (also left over from Christmas) so we finished up with a cheese board, and a glass of port apiece. Followed by a game of scrabble.
I'm now back down in my cellar, and am about to try and complete one or two more jobs before bedtime.
Goodnight all.

How did you know????
How?????
Hello Forde-Innes. Good to hear from you. We obviously have similar tastes.
Now I'm hungry, too.
(p. s. You're never too old for children's books.)
Hello. Ref P.s. You're quite right of course. The best ones work on at least two levels, e.g. the Wind in the Willows, all of Margaret Mahy's teenage books, Narnia Chronicles, et alia.
P.s. Plus the William books and Nigel Molesworth.
I have lift off !!! Got your blog back - fingers crossed you get this reply !! Much love Stig x
Hi Stig. Glad to hear that some fragments of the computer system are still working. I think the majority of it is teetering towards total collapse. Daft science fiction idea in the first place. I never thought it would work, and it doesn't seem to be doing. Not surprised.
All the above to be read in an Eeyore sort of voice.
(I enjoyed that - feel better for it, but don't tell the computer system.)
Oh ye of little faith! Your poor 'ickle 'pooter can only work properly if you believe in faeries - No, strike that - if you believe in computers and the virtual data cloud. They have very sensitive feelings y'know! There's no such stuff as computer science, it's all done by Mumbo-Jumbo and mirrors!
Ann is a marvel - i particularly fancy the dessert.
Ann sure makes some gorgeous meals.
Hello Pat, and Lori. Agree totally with your comments; and this meal, being from scratch - or leftovers, whichever way you'd put it - really was superb.
