Thursday 1.

Just got back from a few days away. Awarded ourselves a few days in Canterbury, which we'd not previously had a proper look at. However, on the way down there, we got a bit side tracked, and ended up in the very pretty little town of Faversham, and spent an hour or so, drinking coffee, eating cakes, exploring irresistable little side streets, alleys and mews, and of course, taking snapshots of all of them.

Hi Mike,
Before the M2 was built I remember nose to nose traffic on the A2 through from Faversham to Strood on a Sunday evening after a day trip to the seaside. Looks like it's much more civilised now.

I think it must have been 'by passed' since then Rog. We turned off the A2 to get into the town, and a nice, quiet, well mannered, little town it is, too.

Some lovely bold pargetting on 'Gulliver's' emporium, Mike.
Hope the break did you both good. Don't rush back into harness, take it steady for another day or two, whiling away the time by beating off the hordes of importunate customers around your doorway.

Hi Crowbard. I think the modern term 'if only' is the only possible reply to your last paragraph.

It is a very pleasant little town.

Faversham looks pleasant. Kent holds many happy family memories for me.

I've never been to Faversham - it looks lovely.

Hello Laurel, Pat and Liz. We decided our blood caffeine level was falling dangerously low, so made a short detour into Faversham. Found a lovely little coffee shop with GOOD cakes, so the detour was worth while just for that. The town itself will repay the short detour necessary though.
