Above snap is of double snowdrops in garden, now coming out nicely.

Next item on the agenda :- my apologies for not having blogged for nearly a week. Been very busy. Came home last Saturday, spent next three days preparing for antique fair at Long Melford. Relaxed for part of Sunday, though, as Hilary (whose electricity was off) came to lunch, then two good games of scrabble. Did extra morning in Church office on Tuesday morning. Friend Liz came on Tuesday afternoon. Liz, David and Sue to supper on Tuesday evening. Gave them (by special request of Liz) Ann's fish pie. Contents vary, usually fish of some sort, though. This time :- salmon, prawns, haddock, etc. And always (this is what makes it special) capers, topped with cheddar cheese (nicely browned). Followed by a traditionally made suet Spotted Dick pudding, served with (and this, too , is tradional in Norfolk) butter and muscovado sugar. Also, there was a jug of custard on the table, in case some of our guests not up to traditional accompaniment. Followed that with what was left of the Christmas stilton (which is getting quite aggressive now) and a glass of port to go with it. Then coffee. As three of us had to be up very early (5.45 a.m.) to go to long Melford, evening ended early (friends David and Sue, being ex dealers, are very understanding about such matters). Busy day on Wednesday, I'm glad to say. Today, Thursday, did my Usual two hours in Church office in morning, slept some of this afternoon, then choir practice this evening. The latter much needed, as the choir had not met for practice during January. Bedtime now, and very welcome. Goodnight all.

Hi, Lori. Teasing a lady with flowers- sounds rather fun!!!!!

Hi, Dinners. I think it was the Duke of Wellington who said- "Never apologise, never explain."
Quite right too, generally speaking; although I'm more of a Sergeant Wilson type that a Captain Mainwaring (or, indeed, a Duke of Wellington, type).
Oh, and the snowdrops aren't double headed, but double like roses, as opposed to single roses, i.e. with larger outer petals, then a froth of inner petals. Like those rather attractive multi layered petticoats that girls used to wear in the fifties. Before your time, I suppose, but I was nicely old enough to be observant, and appreciative, of such matters. I think Pat might remember them ??
Cheers, Mike.
