Wednesday.

Been a good, busy, reasonably successful, day at the Long Melford Antique Fair. This evening took the above snapshot- through the kitchen window - of Pa and Ma Goldfinch (bottom right) on the bird feeder, getting in supplies for their family, whilst a member of their family on the crossbar (top centre) flutters its wings and demands sustenance.
Sooner or later must think about getting a better camera with a 'close-up' facility (probably the wrong term but you'll know what I mean).
Been a long day (up at six - loaded car- and away by seven) and I think we're both ready for bed, so - Good night all.

Hi Mike,
I think you have a Fuji E500 camera, if so you already have a close-up capacity. Press the little tulip on the metal ring round the menu/OK button at the back of the camera. Press again for extreme close-ups, a 3rd press will bring it back to 'normal'. To telescopically enlarge far away objects Press the T on the W/T toggle switch above the Menu/Ok control - you can press it up to 5 or 6 times to get increasing degrees of embiggenment - press the W to return it to a wider perspective.
If you get a new digi-cam try flicking through the user manual and give yourself an afternoon in the garden practicing each option.
