I read a few days ago that cabling and wiring has been put underground in Constable country, to improve the view. Maybe they could do the same with Lavenham? Appart from that, it is a very pretty place.

Yes, the twentieth century does rather impinge on the mediaeval townscape in the form of telegraph wires and electricity cables. Both here and in Lavenham.

Sorry Nea but I must protest! While it might improve the view from the purist's perspective to put Lavenham underground, thus restoring Suffolk's glorious rolling countryside; of all the many towns and cities I would love to bury out of sight, I would still prefer to see Lavenham remaining on permanent surface display.
Or did I perhaps misconstrue your intention?
