I do so like the vigour of your roses Mike - Early morning callisthenics with an anvil is more than I can get my weedy botanicals to perform!
'Weedy botanicals'? Your garden starts where ours leaves off-still, it is autumn.Cheers, Mike.
May I take it that your rose-bush was not supporting the entire weight of the anvil? Perhaps it was a 'trick' photo?
Dear Crowbard. Suggest you embiggen and examine the photograph. You will find that the anvil is slotted into, and supported by, a rather larger anvil, which, in turn is on the concrete base of the forge/potting shed. No magic-sorry. Mike.
