Above photo is of my favourite tree. It is about a mile from here (as the crow flies). It is completely hollow, but appears otherwise healthy. There are three large holes for accessibility - so if all else fails we could go and live in it.
Above photy shows meself and senior daughter, Sarah, at lunch last Tuesday. It was lovely to see her.her.
Hi Sal!
ReplyDeleteLove your tree Mike. Are they great balks of ivy at the sides of it or the trees' entangled siblings?
The latter, I think Carl. It's a lovely old tree. Very hollow, but very alive, still.
ReplyDeleteI note on closer inspection that the hollow in the base of the trunk actually has a plank of rough hewn timber forming a door...
ReplyDeleteAny sign of Pixies or the Little People nearby? Tiny foot-prints or miniature washing lines are always a give-away sign of Fairy-folk within.
If no signs then perhaps Annie could sew up a few fairy size garments and you could make some miniature Gypsy split-pegs and erect a washing line for them all? That's bound to make them feel welcome!
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful tree!
