On the way home checked the swan's nest beside our river. Five cygnets.
Late this afternoon Ann had a 'phone call from the lady who acts as cook for the Ansell group (formed to give a good hot meal monthly to the elderly in town). Pam, the cook, has a glut of plums which she's just picked , and if Ann could collect them, stone them, and freeze them, then she, the cook, could make a
massive plum crumble for the club.

Five cygnets plus cob and pen gives us Seven Swans A-Swimming. I see your plans are well advanced for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIf your swan-upping 'em this back end don't forget to send one to Buck' House for Christmas Mike... Or have you already got your invitation?
ReplyDeleteThat's a load of plums.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to do - bagging the plums.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to do it together, but after a few hours the plum juice started to get in under my thumb nail and then I knew what that witch in Macbeth meant, plum evil, and Jack probably said "Ouch!" but it didn't rhyme with "pie".
ReplyDeleteWV=bless
ie bless all plum stoners and eaters.
